You may have questions...we're here to answer them!
I received a Non-Renewal from Diamond State Insurance. Is this normal?
Yes! This is part of the process of converting your current policy to the new Aegis program. Rest assured, your coverage will continue uninterrupted.
Is The Adams Agency going out of business?
No!! We aren’t going anywhere--- We have always specialized in manufactured home insurance and always will. In fact---we are celebrating our 45th year in business in 2023 and are stronger than ever to provide you exceptional customer and claim service when you need it the most.
Why is my insurance changing?
In 2015 American Reliable/Diamond State Ins was sold to Global Indemnity a commercial insurance carrier. Global successfully operated Diamond State for several years, however, in late 2021 Global made a business decision to sell off the American Reliable/Diamond State business to K2 Insurance Services with the insurance coverage to be provided by Homesite Insurance Company and managed through their general agency Aegis General Insurance Agency.
Who is Homesite?
Homesite Insurance is A Rated, Excellent, insurance company owned by American Family Insurance one of the largest insurance companies in the world. Even though K2 and Homesite have offices all over the country our program will still be managed locally in the SAME Diamond State office in Scottsdale. A huge plus!!
Who is Aegis General Agency and why do I get mail from them?
Aegis is the general agency that manages the Homesite program for K2. You will see the Aegis name and Homesite name on your paperwork—along with the most important one—your agent—The Adams Agency!!
How involved was The Adams Agency in this change?
100% involved from the beginning. In fact, as your independent agent, we worked tirelessly over the course of a year with the new company to create a new program for our customers and to make sure that the new coverage and premium were as close as possible to the Diamond State coverage and rates.
Will my rate go up?
There will be some rate fluctuation on older homes and some other scenarios but overall, the rates for Homesite are very similar (we made sure of it!) which is very positive especially when you consider the record inflation we are facing, supply chain issues, increased summer storms, higher prices for awnings and roofs etc.
Are there substantial coverage changes?
No—the same “new for old” replacement cost coverage with no depreciation remains along with the popular “cash out” option on a total loss. These are valuable coverages especially as your home gets older. But as always, though, check your coverages and policy to make sure you are comfortable with the coverage provided.
What is NOT changing?
Your agent---The Adams Agency. Same great service that you have come to expect and also value for 45 years. That is a local track record that can’t be beat!!
What else is NOT changing?
Local claim adjusters!! We are using the same claims people as before. The field adjusters are the same and so are many of the insurance company claims personnel!
Who do I contact for claims?
The Adams Agency
Who do I contact to ask questions about my policy or make changes?
Same. The Adams Agency
How long will Homesite last?
Put simply—there are never any guarantees in the insurance world, but we feel great about the future with K2/Homesite. But make no mistake—you have our promise---as your agent we will ALWAYS make sure that our policyholders interest come before the interest of our insurance company partners.
What do I need to do to start the new coverage?
Nothing—except pay the new invoice. We have made it easy that your policy information has been entered into the Aegis/Homesite computer system, so you don’t need to do anything to make the change happen. Please review the paperwork for accuracy when it arrives.
Who do I pay?
As in the past, the insurance company (envelope will say Aegis) will send you an invoice to pay them directly or you can pay The Adams Agency in person or over the phone.
What if I still have questions?
No problem. Call our office or come into our office to review. One of our specialists will be happy to assist you!
